In the 18th century this would be known as a Liberty Tea because there is no real tea in it. However, today we would simply call it an Herbal Tea. Wife of one of the first Proctors after the Treaty of Greenville (1795), she travelled hundreds of miles from her home in Pennsylvania to the frontier of Ohio and Indiana. She spent most of her early married life without her husband present. He left her to raise their 15 children, cared for them, her household duties, gardens, farm, the Proctor and store, as well as the numerious almost constant guests that the Colonel brought home with him. Or that showed up since they were a  prominate family in the area. She was on the edge of the frontier and was privy to the good and the bad of the changes it would face and that she would eventually be part of. Like the other teas, I did my best to try and match the tea to the person and what I believe their personalities were like. This is a very floral tea, but a gentle on as well. Perfect for a relaxing cup before bed or after a stressful day.
